Moët & Chandon has been the Champagne of success and glamour since 1743. Renowned for its achievements and legendary pioneering spirit, Moët & Chandon is synonymous with both cherished traditions and modern pleasures; it has helped celebrate life’s most triumphant moments for close to 280 years. In 1842, Moët & Chandon created one of the first vintage Champagnes for British and American connoisseurs, who appreciated more mature wines. With the distinctive expression of a single year’s grapes, each new vintage contributes to the House’s legendary heritage of crafting the finest Champagnes: the Grand Vintage Collection.
Grand Vintage 2015, the House’s 76th vintage, is a Champagne of contemplation — it marks the start of a new day. In Champagne, 2015 was a year of tension, dramatic heat, and uncertainty… a temperate winter was followed by a cool spring marked by an icy spell and infrequent but heavy rain. Then, an abrupt switch to extreme heat and a dry spell ensued. It was the hottest sun since 1961, but temperatures plummeted at the end of August, and precious downpours relieved the parched soil. It was a harvest of exceptional red-skinned grapes that showed remarkable maturity with a powerful, fruity nose, and full-bodied finish. For six years, the bottles have been resting in our cellars, laying still, continuing their slow transformation, developing aromas, and acquiring a magical effervescence. Grand Vintage 2015 evokes an awakening, the first rays of a day full of promise – a luminous morning aura. The 76th vintage in the history of the House, it is an initiation into Moët & Chandon’s journey of light.

A tender and vegetal bouquet. Intital Notes of breadcrumbs, fresh brioche and almond paste give way to elderflower and jasmine, then to fruit such as white peach and watermelon. Notes of garrigue at dawn complete the ensemble.
A direct and enveloping palate. Generous, ample and supple in structure, reminiscent of the cotton flower. Floral, aniseed and metholated nuances bring lightness and freshness.
The finish lingers on a delicate bitterness evoking fresh almonds.
